Renting a limo is a comfortable, relaxing and luxurious way to arrive to a special event – and in style! Just imagine yourself being in the back seat of a limousine and just enjoying the ride while listening to great music, watching movies or sipping a glass of wine. Quite a luxury, right?

Read along and discover more about limo etiquette rules and tipping guidelines for your driver.
Proper Way on How to Act in a Limo
When you rent a limousine, and you have indicated the exact time of pickup, be sure you stick to it. Always remember that time is of the essence, so it is important that you get ready on time and follow the schedule you have made. If you show up late for the pickup, you are not only running the risk of reaching the event several minutes (or hours) after it has started, but you are also causing inconveniences to the driver who also has subsequent appointments. What's worse, additional time will cost you more money, which is a waste that you do not want to make.
Never smoke while in the limousine. Several limousine rental companies prohibit cigarette smoking, so to show courtesy to the driver and the other passengers in the car, make it a point to abide by this rule. Who would want to smell like an ash tray after getting out of the car, anyway? Plus, you are exposing yourself and others to second-hand smoking, which is even worse than smoking the cigarette.
In terms of behavior, be as decent and respectful to the driver as possible. Do not harass your limousine driver in any way whether it is physically or verbally. It is okay to have fun or to drink a little, as long as you do not push your limitations. Intoxication leads to a rowdy and reckless attitude, and you would not want the limo company to terminate the contract prematurely due to your untoward behavior.
Tipping the Driver
Gratuity is a common question among people who decide to rent a limousine. How much should you tip the driver, anyway? With some companies, gratuity is already included in the total cost of rental. In case the tip is not part of the agreement, then it should be fair to tip your chauffeur 15 to 20 percent of the overall bill.
You may also consider your own dicretion before tipping. For instance, if you believe that your driver did an amazing job, you can give him as much as 25 percent. If the service is not as satisfactory as you expected it to be, 15 percent should suffice.
